Awning cover

Hope everyone is having a great summer camping. Question for everyone. Just bought a pro tech awning cover for my awning. I installed it and it came with 2 clips to use when traveling. Question is, the cover went on its pretty tight but got it on. The question is has anyone used this before and did you have trouble putting the clips on? I was afraid to force it on as not to tear the awning fabric. I don't think the covers will come off since they were snug going on. Any input would great. By the way the instructions said that it's only happened 2 times. So I am thinking these clips are just to cover awning pro company. Otherwise I am going to find out next sat.
