Awning???
Maybe it's me, but I cannot get my awning to setup when full extended without my door hitting it. It's like the awning is 3-4 inches to low? The arms do not go completely straight, like my 2010 FunFinder, not sure that would necessarily solve issue?
Is it me, or do I have some sort if factory defect?

You should be able to loosen the knob on the bottom side of the arm (I can see it in your pics). That will allow you to extend to arms out, raising the awning.

Did You try loosening the two black knobs on the bottom? maybe they drawn down. Just loosen them and see if it goes up.

Did that. They will not extend any farther. I wonder if maybe something is wrong with them? I have tried pushing/pulling them out with some force and no movement.

If it won't move in either direction with those loose, something is defintly wrong. Those arms should move in and out with no problem. The gas shocks should push it out. Check in the channels and see if there is some kind of obstruction.

I think you have a issue with it. I have the same type of awning. See if you can push it up and if it just falls back down the support shock maybe bad. I have included a pic of what mine looks like out with knobs lose. It's just rolled out.

looking at the location the awning is mounted, there isn't much clearance over the door to begin with. Seems to me the awning needs to be hire than that to have enough slop and still clear the door. I don't have this type of RV or awning, but it just looks strange to me.

Did some measuring. The rear vertical channel that hold s the awning arm is mounted 12" above where why white siding meets the brown skirting, the front vertical channel is mounted 15" above the joint. Is that my problem or is it designed that way? The channels themselves are the exact same length.

You probably have the newer style roof (rubber roof wraps around side edge and comes down 2-3 inches). This changes the attachment point of the awning to the side of the trailer. Even with the awning fully extended, the door/doors will touch the awning while being opened. I know some people have placed a small section of vinyl tubing (split ) over the radius edge of the door. This should prevent the metal door from rubbing directly against the awning material.

Dealer asked me to send them the model and manufacturing info off the awning. They seem to think it has the wrong hardware. I had the same awning on my last camper and it didn't hot the door and that was a ultra light TT that was only 8.5 tall. Something is not correct. Awnings should never touch the door according to the dealer.

The door on our 5er clears the awning (just barely). The door rubbing on the awning might be a frequent problem. I saw a roller attachment for the top of the door to prevent any damage - think it was in Camping World's catalog.

Dealer called back. Said they definitely installed the wrong arms. They are ordering new ones and will install them when they get them.

Our last 5th wheel, 2012 Cougar 297RKSWE, had the same problem. It didn't seem to have enough clearance above to mount the awning higher, either. We were just careful especially with wind and rainy situations. Good luck with this problem.

Dealer said the difference is "basement arms and regular arms" apparently a common enough issue they figured it out from model number on awning.

Hope they get the correct brackets for you. I have the same set up with no problems. I do have one question about these automatic awnings.
Why do they provide the adjusting nobs when they have them riveted so they are not adjustable? Does anyone know if the rivets can be drilled out to make them adjustable?

You've got me curious about our new TT now - an Outback Terrain 332.
With the awning fully out it sags enough to rest/rub on the kitchen slide out and the door barely clears it. I put a pipe wrap insulation on the top edge of the slide out but that seems kind of wanky for a brand new trailer.
If I bump the awning back in a little it raises it up an inch or so, but then we can't use the channel to hang the mandatory party lights...
We were told to leave those tighteners on the arms loose unless you want to pull it down on one side for drainage. You have to tighten it down to hold or the gas strut just wants to push it back up.
Just took delivery from the dealer so we are starting a list of fixes and tweaks and it sounds like this will be one of them.

Example of the awning rubbing or laying on the kitchen slide out.
Left side is fine - couple inches clearance.
Right side by the door has maybe 1/2" clearance before it sags and touchs/rubs. I'm wondering if that is a concern I need to deal with?
