Just got a "new to me" 2009 Freedom Lite m--299 bunkhouse! Pulling it with a 2007 Chevy Duramax! Can't wait to make some great family memories in our new trailer!
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase of your "new to you" trailer. Exciting I'm sure!
Since you bought used, tires are a commonly neglected component from previous ownership. 3-5 years of service life when well-maintained; otherwise the risk of a catastrophic blowout increases exponential. If replacing, Carlisle is a preferred brand around here and won't break the bank.
Anyways, congrats again. Safe travels.
Welcome from BC Canada:CF: I hope that you have some safe travels and enjoy camping.:camping:
What are your first camping destinations?![]()
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new to you rig.
I would double check the "new" tires and look at brand and manufacture date. Those 2 things will tell you if you got some great new tires or if they might be an issue. Let us know.
Good deal. Sounds like you are almost set. Enjoy the adventure!Looks like manufacturer date is January 2016, they are Goodyear tires....the trailer was stored in a shop so I hope that helped.....I don't see any cracking, but I was planning on taking to a local shop to have bearings, brakes etc checked, so I'll be sure they double check the tires too!
Thank you for your help!
