White Screen of Death...

Now I found update software but not sure if I should attempt it or just leave the system as is cause it seems to work just fine. I know that if it aint broke dont fix it.

I don't know, your system sounds broker than most. I would load the upgrade software on a thumb drive and update it first thing. For this particular product, the newest software has the fewest problems.
 
I would say it all depends where the failure is -- if it's a real problem in the motor or a false in the detection circuitry.
