Returned last night from a week long trip.
This was on the floor of the living area.

That is a T-Handle spring plunger. Usually used for holding something in position, and being able to release it easily.

My guess is that it's from a fold down table or something similar.

For example, do you have a dining table that folds down for converting the dinette into a bed? If so, this might be for locking / unlocking the folding mechanism.

There is a dining table and it was close to that. Will check when I get home from work.
