Water leaking from plugin above nightstand

Has anyone else had a problem with water coming in from around the plugin above the nightstand in a 28RKS fifth wheel? If so, any ideas where the water is coming from? All I can see outside above that area is a clearance light and a seam across the top. Best way to fix it?

check the seam along the top at the edge above your nightstand. I just had an issue with mine where I discovered the roof plywood under the membrane doesn't go all the way to the edge and it makes a area on the edges that the roof membrane is just suspended over the void. my sealant let go some time over the off season and a good rainstorm came down and damaged the one nightstand top.

to fix it I had to inject calk under the front seal trim lip to fill as much of the void as I could then a good liberal dose of self leveling.

Thank you, everything on the seam felt tight. We put silicone along the whole seam anyway. Did discover that water was pooling the area in front of clearance lights. Clearance lights only sealed across the top, not down sides and across the bottom.
Discovered water in the bottom of the closet under the other clearance light area too.
Put silicone all the way around the clearance lights

it will work for now, the problem is when you go to reseal you will have to get all the silicone off or nothing will stick to it properly. Dicor self leveling compound designed for rv roofs uses silicon in it but it has a bunch of other ingredients so when you need to do touch ups all you have to do is clean up the area and apply a bit more over top.

so the difference is next time you do sealant touchups it will be way more work for you because you used strait silicone.

DICOR and Alpha Systems both make sealant that comes in tubes and designed for RV roofs. There are several current discussion threads about both DICOR and AS sealants on the forum. Both brands sell two types of "roof sealant". One is SELF LEVELING for horizontal surfaces. It spreads out to become more or less level without any "tooling of the wet sealant"... That will not work for a vertical surface such as sealing the edges of the roof or any of the clearance lights, etc. So they both sell a "non self leveling" type sealant that does not "spread out/run from the location of application"... Both types will adhere to a previously cured layer of sealant.

That said, neither is intended for "small spaces like the clearance lights, tail lights, edges of window frames and door frames". Neither "tools" easily and both are difficult to apply in "neat small beads of sealant"... For that, GeoCel markets a clear, white, black sealant in tubes that is NOT silicone and that once it's cured, a second coat of the same sealant will stick to what is already there.
