water issue

We have a 2021 Keystone Avalanche 312RS... I am connected up to city water and set for normal flow at the water service station (valve can turn to fresh fill also). Fresh tank fills up on this normal flow setting! (not supposed to do this unless valve turned to “fill” position.).. Water eventually starts overflowing from the fresh water tank exterior drain overflow outlet after fresh tank is full. (in gallons per couple minutes so I have to shut off city water supply !) Tried draining fresh tank and running city water several times on the normal flow setting and once the fresh tank is filled up (which not supposed to do on the normal setting) again the overflow starts pouring out again. Basically a we are having to fill fresh tank, turn off main water and run our rig on pump (with park water off) until fresh runs out. Any ideas where to start? I’m pretty handy just wondering if it’s at the normal flow/fill valve in the water compartment or a check valve in the fresh water tank area? Where to start diagnosis?

I had this same problem in my 2018 keystone, replaces the pump and the next season started all over again. I just put a check valve in the line from tank to pump, no more problem.
Be sure to get a check valve that is all brass and for use on fresh water, I got mine at the local Ace Hardware for a water well.

It could be debris in the water pump. It's not unusual for debris in the tank from installing the fittings at the factory to caught in the pump. The quickest thing to try is to run the pump a few mins to see if it flushes out. I would add a strainer in the pumps suction line to prevent debris from getting in the pump. Then add a check valve in the pumps output line.

If it's not the pump then it could be the selector valve if there is only one hose connection for city and fresh tank fill. If that's the case then replacing or modifying the pump will not stop the FW tank from filling while connected to city water.
