Has anyone remove the valances in their Keystone hideout but left the blinds up? I want to eventually replace blinds but for now just want the valances gone. Is it easy to do? Do you need to remove blind to get valance off? Any advice is welcome.

Look at the corners inside the valance, Oftern times there is a squarehead #2 screw holding it to the bottom of a cabinet, or an L bracket

The valances are screwed to the walls or the bottom of the overhead cabinets. Usually the blinds/shades are not attached to the valance, but are mounted either to the wall or to the cabinet above the valance. You can locate the screws using a bright flashlight and a "keen eye". Once you remove them, the "naked shade" will be unsightly, so you may not like the "visible and ugly hardware"... So, you may want to locate the screws for the valances, take one down, see how acceptable the interim look might be and then determine what you're going to do to hide the hardware/replace the blinds/shades and determine if you'll be "good to go until you replace them"...

Thanks very much I kinda figured it will look unsightly but I am replacing some furniture and wanted to get the valances out at the same time. Appreciate the info lots.

We removed the original valances in out 2012 Alpine. The removal was not difficult, as prior contributors explained. We did make simple squared off valances that we covered with leather fabric. These look like those found in the new RVs and hide the shades hardware.

our valance is attached to the blind, to remove the blind you have to find the clips and turn or slide the catch. It all come down as one piece. you can then separate them. Some had additional screws in the corners buried in the fabric.

We took our valences off our 2022 Montana keystone and it was just a few screws on each. We left the blinds as is and really like the bareness, openness it created. Just did a fresh coat of paint after sealing the screw holes. I just wonder if it’s worth saving the bulky valences for whenever we go to sell it

We did on our 298RE and it works well with the dark "wooden" blinds.

We left the valance's up, but took down the side covers which really opened up the space! You may want to try this first.
