Someone posted on Facebook Marketplace an”RV tankless water heater” for sale. The picture of it was a Bosch instant water heater with a 3 prong ac cord. Is that a possibility for a replacement water heater? It would be AC only as there is no propane hook up. Thoughts?

The Bosch unit is a point of use water heater, meaning that you mount it under the sink or fixture you want hot water from. It is electric-only

Thank you. So to use something like this you would have to have one under the sink, one for the shower, etc. Thanks.

Um..... think about this for a moment........

Why did that person throw the heater up for sale? Answer? Because it did not do what they expected it to do.

From all my understanding about tankless water heaters, water has to flow FIRST before it kicks on. That means in an RV, you will probably be running water FIRST to activate the heat to heat the water, and then it has to travel from the heater to the faucet.

At least with the conventional gas/electric RV water heaters, water discharging from the heater is INSTANTLY truly hot. It's only passing cold water, pushing cold down water between the heater and the spigot.

My opinion? On demand will use MORE water before you feel the heat than a conventional RV gas/electric water heater.

Again.... ask yourself .... why is this item for sale in the first place, especially if the previously owned item was used by someone else in the first place????????
