Tankless water heater...

All of a sudden our water is not heating up as it is supposed to.
Girard tankless....was working fine and now with the thermostat set at 115* and hot valve only it is just warm enough to take a shower. Previously it was way to hot to stand in the shower with it turned up that high and not adding any cold water.
Opened a ticket with Lippert and so far the only thing they suggest is to check and make sure I have a gallon per minute of water flow. I haven't checked yet but I'm not seeing any difference in the water pressure/flow when it was working fine.
I can hear the heater is clicking on when you turn the hot water on.
Have also verified this by going outside with it running.

Anything else I can check before doing the gal per minute test?

What is the incoming water temp? The colder it is coming in, the more contact time it needs. It sounds like the water is too cold or it is flowing through the heater too fast without enough “contact” time. Are you able to see the control pad when running the hot water? I can see mine from the shower and watch for 4 things; a spinning wheel to indicate the blower is running, a flame to indicate that the burner is on, a shower head to indicate water flow and the water temperature reading in degrees F or C.

Once it warms up it never gets any hotter when showering.

Flow sensor? where am I looking?

I did the gallon per minute test and it only takes 40 seconds to get a gallon.

Ironically at home now and hooked up the water and " wam blam thank you" the water is too hot to hold your hand under for very long at 115.
So it's not the heater but I now I believe the water pressure where we were at just wasn't strong enough?
But what was strange is I unhooked the water source where were at and run the hot using the on board pump and the results were the same. Not very hot water, only warm. We've never had a problem with the on board pump going fast enough to create super hot water while boondocking.
That's what was leading me to think it was something with the heater.

Suppose I should invest in a water pressure gage so I know where it's at.

Appreciate the input and I think we'll put it on the shelf for now and see what happens.

Tankless water heater

I had problems with it turning hot&cold as the shower was on. My fix was to locate the incoming water supply, which located behind the water heater accessible behind the bulk head. Turn down the flow rate by 1/4 turn. Water temp set at 124 and everything seems good now.
