We have a alpine 3010re. Can you just put one slide out while at a rest area with out leveling the rig. Will it hurt anything

I own very same fifth wheel. Yes.. If you look inside the door where hydraulic pump is there are a series of valves.. Close the ones ( with all, slides in ) that you don't want to open and leave the one open that you wish to extend .. In our case I only want to extend the slide where fridge is so that we have access to food, etc to stop and make sandwiches, etc..

Once you get to destination that you need all slides out then open the valves you previously closed

Is your question about using only 1 slide or about the leveling? If it's about leveling I would say that RV's are designed to be level when using them. If you are too far out of level there could be undue stress on the mechanisms. I've used the slide at rest stops but I try to make sure I'm somewhat close to level.

If you are at a rest area you are probably pretty close to level anyway. At least close enough where you shouldn't have any issues. I marked all of my valves with a sharpie so i know which is which. Open one or two all of the time when parked in front of the house

We've a different model, but have the same valve switches someone else said you do. The only way to get into the bed & bedroom is by putting that slide out and I've done it many times at rest areas. Never had a cop knock on the door, but I suppose there's always a first time. I prefer using Pilot/Flying J, Loves, Murphy's or any other truck diesel place and stop at one of those early enough to be able to put all the slides out. Sometimes they can get noisy, but its a steady drone and we sleep through it easily. Never had a Walmart, Cracker Barrel or other RV friendly place complain about slides either, but their parking lots can be a little difficult to get in and out of with something the size of our rig.

In case you dint have this PDF this is the manual from Lippert regarding your hydraulic slide system, pump, valves, how to manual over ride, etc.. I keep all of these saved to my iPad and iphone so if I need to refer to a manual I don't have to depend on having internet or cellular service..

Just saying...
