We bought our 2025 Saturday and the dealer said to open all your slides before you level the unit? I have always done the opposite and leveled then opened the slides. Manual says level then open slides. We are coming out of a Motorhome and it was level then open.

Not new to camping at all just confused by the dealers statement.

Any information would be great.

Thanks

It has always been level first, then open slides with any kind of a trailer. Some motor homes, it's ok to open first, then level, but never a trailer or fifth wheel.

Your dealership doesn't know what he's talking about. He's blowing smoke out his ... ***!

Thank you for your reply. That's what we thought.

Your dealer obviously doesn't know much about travel trailers.... Sad to say, but many of the "experts" at dealerships were selling water softeners yesterday or were flipping burgers last week and now they are "experts in the operation of a trailer without knowing which end has the red lights on it....

If you read your 2025 Keystone Owner's Manual, on page 80, step #3 in slide operation reads: "3 | The RV must be leveled and stabilizer jacks extended" The first two steps are "make sure the battery is full charged" and "Turn off all unnecessary electrical items".....

Then, to further verify the instructions, Lippert, in their "owner resources" there is a procedure for extending the slides. Step #1 reads: "Level unit."

So, I'd chalk this one up to knowing more than the dealer's representative. What you've been doing all along is correct, that "advisor" is full of "bad information"....

Thank you and yes I did read that part that in the manual. Thanks again.

Not to pile on, but always level first and then put the slides out. This is especially important if you have an auto level system, because of the natural twisting that occurs as the system levels the RV, you want everything as rigid as possible.
