We have 2022 Keystone passport 221BH with the u-shaped dinette. Our previous TT was a Forest River Wolf Pup 16PF also with a u-shaped dinette. We had thought they would both feel the same but have found the much thicker back rests on the Passport make it difficult to sit on the outside of the table. On one occasion we removed the seat back cushions on that side and it was much more comfortable and useable. We have been pondering several options. The first would be to have the cushions re-done as a thinner cushion for the seat backs and to remove the rounded corner pieces (square it off). This could be expensive as we would likely then have to re-upholster everything else as well to match.

A second option that several have posted on facebook groups is to move the table closer to the kitchen. We are considering simply unscrewing the bases and then fastening them 2 inches closer to the kitchen. Wo has done this and how did it turn out? Were there any issues that should be considered before doing this?

Note that we use the table a lot and are not in favour of removing to replace with a sofa or lounger chairs

Thanks

Mike

If you also use the dinette as a bed, reupholstering the cushions with thinner foam will make for an uncomfortable sleeping platform. If you don't use the dinette for a bed, you might be able to just remove the existing foam, store it in plastic bags for when you sell the trailer and order some 2" or 3" foam, cut it to size and just put it in the existing seat back fabric "pillow cases". You should find a zipper on one of the long edges of each cushion "sack". If you have problems getting the new foam into the "sack", you can wrap it in a cheap plastic drop cloth ($2 from Lowes or WalMart). That will make it easier to slide the foam into the "sack" and get the corners where they need to be positioned. Then when foam is in place, just pull/work the plastic drop cloth out of the space.
