I have a new 2025 Springdale 1750RD. I just installed my TV bracket and ran into the following issues while RV plug into my homes electric via extension cord to camper plug.

Air Conditioning unit (roof) runs then pops my circuit breaker.

None of the outlets are live including the one the TV plugs into and they all say they are GFI protected but I do not see one with a reset.

What am I missing here? Thanks

Typically on a smaller camper, the bathroom has the single resettable GFCI.

What circuit amperage ate you trying to run the RV from? You really can’t/shouldn’t run the AC on anything less than a 20A circuit, but 30A is preferred so you avoid voltage drop, especially over 25-30 ft of cord.

House circuit for outlet I am using is 15amp. Using the 30 amp camper line with adapter to use 15 amp extension cord. Found the GFI reset by bed but its not popped. Maybe I get the AC not working correctly but why the outlets? I have done this with older campers and all worked fine before.

Once you get it figured out, don’t ever try to run the AC on a 15a circuit, a 20a maybe if you had a soft start, but ideally stick with a 30a dedicated circuit.

The converter also has a big draw when first plugged in and can eat a good portion of that amperage leaving little for the AC. It won’t take much to permanently kill the AC by running it under-under powered.

So as far as the GFCI outlets, have you checked the 15a breaker in the power center (ignore the fuses, they only are for the 12v DC side). If they all look like they are on, and not tripped, try cycling each breaker fully off and then back on. On the GFCI is the test button and reset button functional? GFCI’s have sensitive electronics in them and it’s possible that your under-voltage situation when you tried to run the AC cooked the GFCI and it needs to be replaced

A gfi is not an Amp limiting device. It will trip unless there is a ground fault. It will not reset if voltage isn't present. Check for a tripped breaker inside the camper. Never run the air-conditioned on a 15 Amp circuit, it can end with a very costly mistake. The converter can easily use 1/2 of that available 15 amps when in bulk charge mode.

First off, make sure the air conditioner is turned off. If you can't be sure it's off, then turn the circuit breaker for the air conditioner off in the trailer power center.

That should allow you to have enough power in the rest of the trailer to operate the GFCI. Remember, the GFCI will not reset unless power is on the trailer. So, verify that the "in the house circuit breaker" is not tripped, then verify that there is 120VAC power somewhere in the trailer, then make sure that there is power going into the GFCI. If those conditions are met and the GFCI will not reset, then I'd replace it and go from there.

But as others have posted, the "new electrical appliances are much more sensitive to low voltage/high amperage damage than the older styles. What used to just "keep going until it started smoking" now will shut down to prevent extensive damage. The problem is that "too many times" when the new stuff shuts down, you have to replace the entire unit, even the parts that were protected by that cheaper part that failed.... :banghead:

So, what used to work on a 15 amp house plug in older trailers typically will either fail to work or worse, burn itself up in newer trailers.... They are much more sensitive to power issues than the older trailers ...

If you don't have an EMS you are the perfect candidate for one. You need to immediately order one and use it. My Alpine has a GFI in the bathroom that used to feed 7 or so other downstream receptacles one of which was my fridge. I removed all of those recepts from the load side of the GFI. I also have a GFI "breaker" in my panel that has some other circuits and recepts on it so check to see if you have a breaker that has maybe tripped the reset button.

I'm a bit confused over which breaker is popping. Is a breaker inside the camper popping, or the main breaker inside your house popping.

If inside the house, you need to determine what else is running on that same circuit inside the house. You are limited to only 15 amps on that line. The breaker does not care if all 15 are inside the house, or outside in the camper, or a combination of both. Once everything running (inside the house and out) reaches the max of 15 amps, the breaker will pop. What is on that same circuit line inside the house? Your AC in the camper could use anywhere from 7 to 14 amps alone.

All fixed guys as I had a faulty circuit. Thanks for all the input in helping me search!

What amp Home breaker are you trying to use to power your camper?
A home plug won’t power up your AC.
Either camper breaker trips or house breaker will trip.
GFCI is for 110v plugs, one usually in bath & one near kitchen.

Not sure how installing a TV bracket relates to AC or plugs unless you hit a line in the wall and it is now shorted.

All fixed thanks.

All fixed thanks.

Since you asked for help, it would be really nice if you went into the details of how you fixed the issue.

As someone else asked, which circuit was faulty?
House or camper?

What did you do to fix the issue?

Members went out of their way to offer help/suggestions, so it is only fitting you share the details of what you found.
