Ready for buybacks??

And then there's the guys that cut a big ole hole in a perfectly good box so they can run a single 8"+ pipe up directly behind the back window of the cab.
A perfect way to cover whatever they're carrying in the box with soot and whatever else they can expel from that pipe.

When I see those folks it's a given to me that they aren't lucky enough to play with a full deck.

Whether or not anything comes of this, I will tell you if Ford thinks there is an emissions problem, they will come out with a recall. The recall will involve reprogramming the powertrain control module.

Just FYI. I am a diesels truck owner. I have a 2016 ram Cummins. I too feel the same you guys do about the young rich kids and the black smoke. But there are thousands of diesel truck owners who have ripped all the emissions out of there truck and you never know it. I did and the fuel mileage I get is almost unbelievable. You never see any black smoke coming out my tail pipe. Diesels have a bad rap so do not hate on all diesels just because a few young dumb kids that I know we all use to be.

.

My Son has a 14' 3500 GMC dually as a service truck and as soon as the warranty was up he removed all that crap, got rid of the DEF and chipped it. He immediately gained 3 MPG. No smoke. He normally runs 150 to 200 miles a day, 5 or 6 days a week. That is a big savings.

He said he did not notice any power gain but there must be. His truck is close to max load all the time. He is a plumber and carries lots of stock and pipe in this truck.

Ford can cut me a great cost to me update deal for an '18 SD any time they want as long as it wont hurt my wallet or what I need to tow our 5er.

With apologies to Ram owners, why does it seem that almost every smoking clattering, clapped out looking pick up appears to be a Dodge/Ram. Even my DW who is probably one of the most vehicle insensitive people noted that even before I did:hide:

Must just be what your eyes are attracted to.

Quick google search of "jacked up diesel" negates that theory.

https://www.google.com/search?q=jac...KEpNXYAhVPyYMKHVi-DaoQsAQIJg&biw=1164&bih=835

Around here all the rage is the young "pups" and their screaming barking turbos on dare Ferds.

According to that "google search" (yup, a very un-scientific study knowing how google advertising sets priority hits), it looks like the "jacked up diesels" come in all brands from all manufacturers.

As for why the "rich kids prefer Ford".... Maybe it's because of cost? Ford sticker prices are the highest of the big 3 followed by GM and finally RAM brings up the rear. So, if you're a "rich kid" would you really want to save money buying a cheap truck????? Again, a very "un-scientific study" :hide:

If you really look at every single dodge 3/4 ton and 1 ton you will see far more diesels in rams that do not blow black smoke than you thought. For that matter quite a few fords and chess as well. Those few bad apples make all diesel owners look bad.

"Note this is fir ur humor only"

My theory on the Ford hotrods around here is the opposite. These younger kids that are doofuses like I once was throw large amount of money at a truck like i once did just not to the same extent. They see these kool 6.0 and 6.4 Ferds on the used lot cheap. The reason they are so cheap is the older wiser generations got rid of the money pits after years of repairs. So these "farm kids" buy these kool trucks so they can be sheep like the rest of the herd. They then spend stooopid money on bulletproofing a subpar truck in the first place.:facepalm::hide:

Ahhhh, youth, the springtime of life, when the heart puts forth its tender leaves of hope and gladdens us with its fresh expectancy.

Translation: Youth, when we're young, dumb and believe we're immortal.
