Or, passing on the baton to the next generation.
Well, my biggest proud momma moments to date. DD got married to her wonderful hubby out in Utah end of May - and it was a beautiful wedding. We did end up taking the camper and making a trip out of it (that’s a whole ‘nother story itself). But, I got a text today from DD that she was all excited about - they bought a camper. It’s a little 2021 19 foot long Forest River travel trailer that looks brand new both inside and outside. Apparently an older couple owned it who barely used it but left a bunch of “stuff” in it - such as backup camera, power hitch, and dishes, etc inside. They (and I) are completely excited about them being able to go camping, especially where they live with the numerous camping areas. But, my proudest was when she informed me she drove the truck (a 2500 diesel) and camper home from St George, an hour away. That’s my girl!
I taught her to drive the truck with the four horse fifth wheel attached, and she is now just as capable as her momma for towing trailers around. They are going to have so much fun!
It was also a bittersweet text, because a couple of days after the wedding, while on the trip, my hubby of 30 years informed me he is leaving. Blindsided me, and made for an….interesting…trip home for sure. And also means I probably won’t be camping again for a good long time until I can afford anything again. But, it’s very fun to see what we’ve passed on and how the next generation has now picked up the camping bug and will run with it.
So, thank all of you guys for all of the knowledge you have shared with me over the years. I will now be passing that down, when asked.
