So the built in sewer hose storage tube on my 170BH that is mounted on the underside of the frame is so short it doesn’t fit a 10’ section of sewer hose (let alone two which is what I have). I was gonna make a holder (or two) out of PVC pipe but the rear storage compartment is too short. How have y’all stored your hose(s)?

With our Passport, I kept one cheaper 10 ft hose that compresses to 2 ft in the factory holder (brown Camco Revolution hose) and I installed a Valterra 4 ft tube on the rear bumper to hold my longer and heavier duty Rhino Extreme hose. Between the two, I have never been short.

The hose holder on my Cougar is mounted side to side across the frame rails, so I have the hoses connected together and even with the elbow on, there is still room.

The Rhino hose collapses on itself so it doesn't take up much room. 15 footer collapses to 56".

You can always go to Home Depot and buy a vinyl 6" post cover, two end caps and a 10' section of 5" vinyl gutter with two end caps and make a hose carrier that will hold 3 or 4 collapsible sewer hoses with fitting attached. And, the "gutter slide drawer" will also act as a sewer hose ramp when you're parked and need support for the sewer hose.

Since the HD vinyl covers and gutter aren't "priced for RV use" you can do the entire mod for the cost of one "RV related hose carrier"...

Hey thanks for the tip! Did you attach the tube to the bumper with screws? Hose clamps? Something else?

Since the rear "bumper" on a Passport and other similar lightweight campers is merely a flat piece of steel flush with the rear wall, after confirming that there was nothing immediately behind it (like a tank, pipe or wire), I simply used some hex-head self tapping screws to attach it.

I don't find 6" vinyl post covers and the 4" are expensive, cheaper to buy a tote. Previous owner of my trailer squeezed the bumper with the spare mount and a hitch adapter and hose won't slide in easy.

I use 2 of these. One for slinkys / Adapters and one for water hoses, filters etc...

I find soft bags fit easier and take up less room in the pass through than a create or case.....

I have the 4 stackable bags, electrical, sewer, water and accessories. The sewer bag is black and decently water proof. I chunk it on top in my front storage compartment. Works really well for me.

Well totes take up space in the truck or trailer, the 5" vinyl fence post work great as hose and fittings all fit nicely inside.
I will say WOW! When I did ours, those post were $25 ea, now $45.66!

Yep, If I recall, I think they were about $20 or so when I did ours back in 2010 (for the Springdale) and being "cheap" I took all that kind of stuff off that trailer when we bought the Cougar. My reasoning: Why buy it again when the dealer is probably going to "take most of it off and trash it" when they prep the trailer for resale.... So, I didn't have to buy more for the next trailer.... I was SURPRISED at the cost increase when I checked prices at Home Depot because of some replies in this thread....

But, to me, it's still a more functional mod than just installing a CAMCO sewer hose tube.
