I winterized my Bullet Premier 23 RBPR yesterday for the first time. The water heater has a drain plug which I undid to drain the tank. But there was no anode. Do new water heaters no longer have anodes or is it somewhere else?

Thanks for any info.

John

It depends on what brand water heater you have.
They are not all the same, and depending on brand are constructed of different materials.

A Suburban water heater is steel, and requires an anode rod.
A Atwood water heater is aluminum and does not require an anode rod.

My Passport had a Dometic (Atwood) gas/electric water heater and it had an aluminum tank and no anode, just a nylon drain plug. Gave it a good flush once a year, always used filtered water and never had any issues.
