Newbie in Northern California

Hey all, I'm a new Fuzion 310 Toy Hauler owner, well I actually picked mine up last December, but I still feel like it's new and I'm here to see what you all have done to your RVs or what your experiences are. I have a few questions, like what others have found to be the best cover for the 310 and if others have noticed a few things that I've noticed but I'll post these questions in the appropriate forum catagories. I absolutely LOVE my Fuzion and am glad to be here. Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm about midway between San Francisco and Sacramento. I've been browsing the forum and have already seen some posts that are discouraging buying and using a cover for my new Fuzion 310 so that's helpful unless you consider the alternative which is to build a shelter at 3-4 times the cost, but I'd rather do that than buy a cover and be unhappy with it. These forums and the internet in general are such an awesome tool.

Hey McGillycutty,

We are a couple hours north of you so we share some of the same climate.
The sun is the real enemy to your RV finish so a shaded cover is best.
We installed one of those "movable/relocatable" metal canopies that we park our RV under keeps the sun and rain off when not in use.

Tinbender, thanks for your reply. What brand shelter did you get and where did you get it? How much did it cost you and are you happy with it? I do prefer a shelter over a cover, but of course the shelter is going to cost many times more than a cover and most importantly my wife feels it's going to be an eye sore, but this new Fuzion is so pretty I've got to do all I can to try and keep it this way as long as possible. I've seen 15 year old RVs that still looked new because they were stored out of the elements. Thanks, Mike.

It has been at least 10 years since we put ours in so pricing etc wouldn't have much meaning. There are several companies listed in the resources that install these, check them out and get job references. Ours has held up very well, no problems at all, just some staining on the roofing metal because we are under the Oak trees. When we installed ours I poured continues footings and stem walls to anchor the shelter properly to the ground rather than depend on the "ground screws" that are normally used to anchor them. A metal shelter isn't the height of beauty but the real eyesore is the faded finish and peeling decals on your RV but that's just my opinion.
