Hello all,

Long story made short, without the details, my wife of 25 years has terminal cancer. After failing her latest round of chemotherapy, her life expectancy has changed from 3-5 years to 12 months. So, we are going to live a little bit while she dies, while she still feels well enough to travel. And when she doesn't, we are going to live at hospitals. So we decided to purchase an RV. Our plan is to Travel the west from our homebase in Redmond Oregon.

I'm here for questions and answers, will promptly ignore criticism that is not constructive, and NOT here for politics. I am a union contract negotiator and business agent by trade, I deal professionally in conflict every day and have no desire for it here.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good information and loads of great people here. Politics are not allowed here, and the site team tries to stop criticism in its tracks. Feel free to to ask anything, and FWIW, good on you to do what your doing.

Welcome to the forum and prayers for your situation. No politics allowed. Depending on the situation and what is/was done - criticism? It's a learning experience so we all have had "stuff" go wrong.

Feel free to ask questions about the RV, travel, what to do/not to do, destinations etc. This is a great welcoming group and we will do whatever we can to make the journey the best it can be.

Cancer is a beast. DW survived it and hope yours does well too. Look for the day to day fun while you can. Let us help when you think it would be beneficial.

Welcome to the forum. Prayers for your family.

As to "criticism", let the moderators handle anything that you feel is inappropriate. Click on the "report " box at the bottom of the text box BEFORE responding to the post. That will accomplish 2 things right out of the gate. First, it won't escalate the situation and secondly, it will allow the moderators to intervene and take appropriate actio.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your new camper and I wish you well with your upcoming travels.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your wife as you experience this heartbreak in your lives right now.

Welcome. Sorry to hear about the prognosis for your wife. My prayers to you both to find happiness and peace in your remaining time together.

Advice for RVing. A weight distribution hitch will prevent sagging in the rear suspension without modifying the suspension. Good to have while towing with a 1/2 ton truck. If your Ford has electronic trailer sway control, you may need to disable it while towing. On my truck, the W/D hitch and sway control fight each other.
