Retired with my GGF in Prescott Valley AS and justpurchased a hardly used, used '24 Cougar 22RBS for camping trips throughout the west. Camping is not new to me, but it is for my GF. When living in Moab UT and Pocatello ID towed an off-road popup trailer with a Hummer H3 or a few 1/2 ton Silverados.

So far, pulling it through the mountains has not been a problem for the '25 Silverado Trail Boss,3.0L Duramax with a Reese equalizer / Sway control hitch. And just returned from a Trip to Mogollon Campground (not recommended).

Not sure where the mogollon campground is but give Canyon Point up by Forest Lakes a try. We like it.

Mogollon campground is on the Mogollon rim; about 30 miles outside of Payson. The reason for the bad review is you basically park the rig parallel to the road, sort of like the old days when you circled the wagons. Outside of the campground the hiking is great and the view from the top of the rim is nice.

There is a lot of good camping up along thr old rim road (300) but it helps to be retired and grab a spot on a Tuesday. Gets busy on weekends.
