I have a 2025 1750RD Springdale TT. I am looking to install sway control arms on the trailer frame which requires self tapping screws. I need 16 total and the ones provided were not fluted. See attached photos and any idea where to purchase other than the big or small box stores would be appreciated.

If those are for the sway plate and the heads are 3/4" then I use a 15/32' drill.
Which sway kit are you using?

I have 2 units from Harbor Freight. In the reviews many had snapped the supplied bolts even after a pre drill. Trying to avoid same issue.

I think your only choice is the hardware store. FWIW that style of anti sway Doesn't have a real good reputation.

You guys do realize the HF sway control is allegedly made by the same vendor that makes Curt.

Allegedly? Got a link or any proof of that?

HF sells the "Haul Master" line of sway control. Chinese knockoffs

Are you saying they also make the Curt stuff?
Curt is a Lippert brand.

Where do you think all the other known "MAIN" brands are made? If I told you my good friend is a a buyer for HF would that make a difference? Thanks for your help on my specific issue. Take care

Oh I didn't know your "Good Friend" was a buyer for HF.
I guess that would make him the expert.
So, no proof of your HF sway control being made by the same vendor as Curt.

But guess what, my very well known "Main Brand" hitch was made here in the US.
Not some HF Chinese knock off.

Any "GOOD" hardware store should have the bolts in stock. If you have issues with a hardware store, then go to a "commercial fastener store". There is one near you at 3411 W Main St Leesburg, FL . The name is Fastenal Inc. They are a national chain of "bolt, screw and fastener hardware. It's all they sell.

OMG....just exactly what are you saying here? You would like to install an item on your trailer (yourself?) and don't know where to go find some bolts because the manufacturer (possibly) sent you the wrong ones? Or replace the bolts you don't like because someone else sheared them off installing said item on their trailer because they didn't know how to install the bolts correctly?

Friend at HF? Maybe getting his expert opinion on why he is buying junk with crappy bolts my be a good place to start?

Are you sure this Rving thing is for you?

Some CURT sway control products are made in China, while others are made in the USA: CURT 17200 Trailer Anti-Sway Bar Control Kit: This kit is made in China.
CURT 17201 Trailer-Mounted Sway Control Ball: This ball is made in China.

Other CURT sway control products: Many other CURT sway control products are made in the USA, including custom hitches that are engineered, fabricated, welded, finished, tested, and shipped from the company's headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

CURT is a brand of CURT Group, a subsidiary of Lippert Components, Inc. CURT Group also has manufacturing plants in South Dakota and Florida.

I can appreciate the need for caution and good planning before any project. But I'm not sure I see the concern. I know that not everyone is mechanically inclined (Dave, I don't know if you are or aren't...just speaking generally). But there are those of us who can visualize a project and know exactly how to get it done.

I enjoy seeing what creative, handy people do to their rigs with out-of-the-box thinking. I do all of my own projects and enjoy the process of making our camping experience better, easier, safer, more enjoyable, etc. It wouldn't be the first time that I've sourced better screws or bolts to attach some widget that came with cheap ones.

I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm scolding the concern...I'm not. I'm encouraging the OP to git-r-dun if he can SEE his way through this project. I completely agree that if a person can't see, or just doesn't know how, to get something done then yes...seek advice from someone who does. But if you can, and do...then enjoy the project.

OP, this sounds like a pretty straight forward project. If you know what you need then I've had a lot of success finding it on Amazon as well as local hardware stores...even big box stores. I find that my local ACE is also a good source for onesy, twosy kinds of hardware. Good luck

Wow...
You could google all this info but can't figure out where to get a bolt from?
:nonono:

Even if one is or isn't inclined to be able to do or a complete a simple job like what is being talked about isn't (wasn't) my point.
But being able to find a common bolt to do the job correctly shouldn't be that flippin tough I would think ??

LOL...good point. There are lot's of places to find the correct bolt.

The Hardware store has always worked for me. etrailer.com had self tapping bolts. I get the zinc kind.

I have searched in every large and small store that sells hardware and even bought from a company called Fastenal as recommended. In the end, bolts provided are apparently not a common size. The only ones I have been able to locate go from 1" which is too short to 2.5" which is too big. The size I need is 3/8" x 12 x 1.25". This is the bolt size of the crappy bolts provided with the sway unit. I even tried buying from the likes of Reese, Curt but for some reason the bolts are not sold separately. I am going to try using Rivet Nuts so I can just buy standard non self tapping bolts in the right size and eliminate the need for self tapping bolts.

Be careful of RIVNUTS as they CAN and WILL pullout if too much tension is put on them.
Just my 2c.
Personaly I would not use them for that perpose I would weld that bracket on instead.

Don
