Left rear landing gear not working

Hi. Pulled into campsite and realized that our lippert left rear landing gear is not working. It's electric, not hydraulic. I can hear the motor but the gear isn't moving. I can manually move the gear up and down. If I raise it all the way and let go, it falls down.

2016 keystone cougar. Any suggestions on a path forward?

Could be a sheared pinion gear. But I would call Lippert to help troubleshoot…they are very helpful.

Do you have the Lippert leveling system or do you have electric stabilizer jacks???

Cougar, in 2016 came standard with "electric stabilizer jacks" and there was an optional electric 4 point leveling system.

Which system do you have ???

I'm going with the assumption you have electric stabilizers and not leveling jacks.

At what point are you pushing/pulling on the one side of the stabilizer? While you are trying to extend or retract them? What happens when you retract them all the way tight against the bottom of the trailer?

The stabilizers may or may not come down at the same time. On my last trailer the rear stabilizer would lower the passenger side all the way to the ground before the other side would start coming down. During that time I could put my hand under that jack pad and raise/lower it as the opposite side swiveled. Once down it worked fine as well as once it got all the way up.

The left rear stabilizer/levelling leg will not retract. It seems like the gears are stripped or something like that. It's completely loose in its housing

Ahhh... this sounds hopeful. As I said, the motor runs fine but the leg does not retract when I try to retract it. I'll call them tomorrow... just trying to get a heads up first. Thanks
