Installed gold star LEDs in our Outback, so far have lost 5 out of 10,checked socket voltage 12.5v,maybe the flat round one would work better? Replacing 921 bulbs.

Are these from Amazon? I can understand if you got them from eBay, but the ones I've received from Amazon have worked flawlessly.

I've used both of these with good results Be sure you get the regulated blubs.

I originally ordered 40 of the GRV 921 T10 3528 12V leds from Amazon. They worked pretty good but not as bright as I wanted (they were the super bright warm white). After initial installation I began losing leds all the time. Many (10?) quit completely. Even more of them lost multiple leds. The inside of the camper now looks rather gloomy and yellow. A suggestion was made to me on this forum about having the 12V only leds vs the 12-28V models and I do think that is the problem. I have more than 12V at the bulb and in one of the sites for that led it said it could not have more than 12V or it would lead to led failure and burnout.

Ordered 20 of the GRV 921 T19 3528 12v-28v super bright cool white leds yesterday. Should have them Wednesday. I won't install for 2-3 weeks because we are out of state at one of our vacation homes. I'll try to update when I get them installed. The illustration of the cool white vs warm bright shows the cool white is considerably brighter. I hope they will be as bright as I hope; if not, I'll be ordering the 5050 leds which are supposed to be much brighter than the 3528.

You can get just 12v only ones but like javi said they have to be regulated cause if not the higher voltages when connected to shore power can cause premature failure and high heat. That's why the voltage range of 12-28v ones people have less of a problem because it regulates that voltage down to 12.

Yes, having the 12V only is what is causing all the premature failures I believe. I'm thinking the 12-28v I've ordered will cure that problem.

My wife and I ordered 2 boxes of 10 of these LED Bulbs to replace the 921 interior lights in my Outback Terrain.

It was a very simple process. Both my wife and I wore Nitrile gloves to keep from directly touching the LEDs. Popped off the cover, pulled out the existing 921 bulb, and popped in an LED bulb in its place. Prior to reinstalling the light fixture covers, I connected the trailer to the truck (battery was not installed) and tried all the lights. Only one of the 14 lights needed to be fiddled with before lighting.

On a scale of 1 -10, I would rate this as a 1.5 to 2 on the difficulty meter. No appendages were lost, and no curse words were uttered. There is still one double light fixture in the bathroom storage area as well as the pass through storage fixture still remaining to be changed out.

cbramsey -- Your leds look to be the same ones we just installed. We'll see how they hold up next week, going south for a week or so.

About 4 years ago I bought ours from LEDtrailerlights.com. Replaced bout 20 or so over a 2 year period. They were all T-10 Wedge base 921's. Little more expensive but all are still burnin brightly and no interference with the TV or radio.. used em in the old TT and then took em out & put em in our new 5er. Still searching for an LED bulb that will replace the Festoon bulb in the fridge.

My wife and I ordered 2 boxes of 10 of these LED Bulbs to replace the 921 interior lights in my Outback Terrain.

I installed a box often of these in our Bullet a few months ago. I was 110% happy, great color temperature. Then I turned on the radio. Tons of static when the lights are on. Apparently, these emit some sort of RF noise. For the sake of comparison, at the same time I also installed some of the lights on a flat panel with an adhesive tape on the back. A bit whiter light, but no RF interference. Eventually I will end up swapping out the ones that create the radio static for more of the flat panel LEDs because I do listen to the radio a fair amount and it's irritating. Curious if anyone else has encountered this?

I found my flat 48 LED panel LEDs on eBay for about $1/ea. Bough a buch of extras as well as a few different socket styles which ended up being perfect for over the main (queen) bed. Have not replaced one yet.
My only minor complaint is the obviously fake 3M take did not adhere to the roof of each light housing. Still very happy with the purchase! Much more efficient and cool than halogen.
