I went inside to turn the heat on during an expected freeze spell only to find the temp reading on the screen were not responding. I could not use the heat system due to malfunction. I had to put a heat fan on the counter to heat the inside area. Boy I never expected to have so many issues with this unit since new two years ago. I am constantly having to disaable batteries to keep the in command working. I sent it to the dealer under warranty the first tme and they disconnected the battery and made sure the shore power was disconnected and reconnected the devices and it came back up again. I have had to do this multiple times my self. I have had to send the unit back twice for the closet hanging up when extending it out, they said they fix it both times but it still hangs up. The tolet has leaked since day one, they even replaced it and we still get a leak that runs across the floor. I now have an air conditioner that froze up on our last trip to east texas for a funeral the last time we used it. we have only used the ac twice since we purchased the trailer. We have only used this trailer six times since we purchased it, it is like brand new. Any help with the in command to address the lack of temp readings would be appreciated! I am going to disconnect every thing again and see if the screen will display temp. I am very mechanically inclined with 46 yrs in the heavy truck repair business even with communication devices and com data.

Have you upgraded the firmware/software on the InCommand? If not this must be done. ACA can send you the upgrade file and it can be done using a thump drive. Once you do it this way in the future it can be updated via WiFi.

I agree with the software update.
I had the No Temp being display issue once not long after we purchased the 5th wheel.
Disconnected all power/battery and rebooted. Temp display came back like normal.

Then did an update to the latest software, and haven't had any issues in over 2 years now.

Mine was regularly locking up. Known issue that an upgrade takes care of. If you haven't updated firmware they told me that's a must.

If you would post the year, make an model of the RV you might get more accurate info

Some units had an issue with the EOL resistor on the BCM or if your units are Coleman then it uses a Netzone control interface between the two AC units and furnace and also has issues with EOL resistor

A couple of files that might help you

I've had this problem about four times in three years. I have just turned off the 12v system for a minute and then turned it back on. Each time that resolved the issue.

How does one go about getting the upgrade firmware?

I called tech support and the lady emailed me the firmware upgrade. Put it on a thumb drive and load it. I haven't had any issues with mine since.

Go to their tech support site:

From the main page, find your system.
Example, mine is the Global Connect. Click on the one that matches your system.

From there, you can watch videos and download manuals, software updates, etc.
Click on the software update button, and you can download update instructions and the updates.

Well i powered the system back up yeasterday evening and wala it was working again. This does help when it get cold and I need to turn on the heat. This is the second time the temp quite reading when it got cold. It is to late when i am in the back woods and need heat. So my question now is the update supposed to resolve this issue or is something else going on. yr 2022 cougar r 32 ibelieve

I believe the issue is related to the A/C control box/thermostat interface. Years ago there was a problem with the sensor not working properly below 40F or above 100F. A "workaround" back then was to cool the sensor with an ice pack, etc or warm it up with a hair dryer, etc. That may be a PART OF your "current issue" coupled with the software update fixing other issues as well... I haven't heard of nearly as many of the "temperature limit shutdowns" in the past year or so. I'd guess it's at least partly related to updates. As people do the software updates, the problems go away and the posts on the forum "dwindle to almost nothing"... Try the update and you will probably see less "cold weather related shutdowns"...

Nobody is going to be able to tell you for sure one way or the other with 100% certainty.
But doing the updates will always be the first step.

In-Command isn't much different than any other computer system
Look at how many updates your computer or phone are always getting.

In some cases, an update will allow some new feature.
But most of the time, those updates are to resolve some stability issue that someone reported.

I can't guarantee my "Zero Temp" issue won't happen again.
But it hasn't happened in over 2 years now after I did a software update in 2022.

They release these updates once or twice a year for various reasons.

Call their tech support and explain your situation to them.

If you don't update it you will continue to have issues. Those issues may or may not be with the temp display but something won't work.

Is there a certain year or years the update applies to?

I had to power mine down and let it reconnect yesterday when I was out confirming I have a/c vents in my ceiling. Slides lights nothing worked from the panel.

Is there a certain year or years the update applies to?

Year does not really matter.
This isn't any different than any other computer (or smart phone) you might have.
They release software updates all the time.

Go to the links provided above or call the tech support number listed and talk to customer support.
They will walk you through how to check your current software version, and how to download and install any updates if needed.
