I stopped being able to connect to iN Command via WiFi a few days ago and called support. Their Global Connect server has been down for a week. They didn’t give an outlook for when it would be fixed but took my email address and said they’d contact me when it’s back. You may want to contact them also if you want to be notified when it’s back.

In the meantime they suggested shutting off WiFi on the iN Command console because constantly trying to connect to the server can cause it to lock up, which I believe happened to mine a couple of days ago. Bluetooth connectivity still works if you are in range.

Well they seem to be phasing incommand out of keystone and a few other rv manufacturers…perhaps it isn’t financially viable since only a few manufacturers seem to offer it…looks like most of them don’t offer anymore

I find that I don't use Global Connect much. Not much you can do with it except lights. and maybe HVAC temps. But I use the Bluetooth all the time.

Thankfully my Cougar was one of the first new models built without InCompetent in early 2024 and I couldn’t be happier. A Micro-Air EasyTouch thermostat with Bluetooth and WIFI allows me to monitor and adjust the HVAC system remotely so we can make sure our dogs are safe. It doesn’t rely on a third-party server, so as long as there is a cell signal, it works great. I enjoy and embrace technology as much as the next guy, but InCommand was a solution looking for a problem.

I find I can do all the same things with WiFi and Bluetooth, but can do them from anywhere with WiFi. For instance, it’s getting below freezing here at night so I turn the trailer furnace on at its lowest setting (55 degrees) before I go to bed. If I can only use Bluetooth, I have to get as close as I can to where the trailer is parked beside my house. With WiFi, I can do it from anywhere. Not a huge inconvenience most of the time, but it would be if I was not at home when I realized I need to turn it on.

I also have a space heater in the trailer that’s plugged into a WiFi-enabled plug adapter so I toggle it off remotely when I toggle the furnace on.

Yeah. I half expected to be told by support that they are phasing out support for it now that new sales are drying up, although I admit to not knowing if or how many other brands use it. But they still talked like they support it and are fixing the problem. So that seemed encouraging.

But more than a week is a very long time for a customer-facing server to be down. I’m thinking either there is a large crater where the sever used to be, or it is indeed a low priority and they don’t have all hands on deck getting it fixed.

I think the limiting factor using WiFi is the ability to start anything with a motor. I don't recall the HVAC but I think if it is running you can change temp settings but if it is off you can't start it. I know you can't move the slides or operate the leveling system. And all units may not be the same but the couple of times I have used it that's how mine is.

On ours we can’t operate the slides or the awning with WiFi or Bluetooth. We don’t have a leveling system and our stabilizers are operated by switches on the outside of the trailer rather than with iN Command. But we can operate the furnace and the A/C, including starting and stopping them, with WiFi or Bluetooth. That’s one of the things I find really handy.

Say we take off for a bike ride or a hike in the morning and we’ve left the pooch in the trailer. It starts to get warm out as the day goes on and I realize that I forgot to turn on the A/C to come on when it gets warmer. I’m old. So I fire up the iN Command app to check the zone temperature. If it’s getting too warm in the trailer, I turn on the A/C and set the temp. I then can check it during the day to make sure it’s still working and all is well.

Unrelated to iN Command, I also turn on the ring camera to make sure the pooch isn’t barking her head off, but almost always it just answers the question: Which recliner is she quietly sleeping in? We usually set her up with music on the radio to mask outside sounds that might spook her. If I could control the radio via iN Command and she could make requests, she might occasionally signal me in the camera to change the station. She’s probably as sick as I am of “Free Bird.” 😀
