Gravity water fill

New 2025 23MLE. Is there a separate gravity fill for the fresh tank, other than the hose connection on the passthrough panel? I'm trying to sanitize, so attempting to pour a gallon or two into the fill inlet in the wet bay, even after rigging up something that screws into it, doesn't work - can't just pour water in. There is a Tank Vent driver's side near back of trailer, with a cover that is sealed to the wall with silicone: I saw a youtube of a Montana (
) that said just pop the cover off and that's the fresh fill? Is this true before I bust a seal?

I have my wife pour in one cup of bleach into the end of the city water hose .. hose is drained before doing so.. the bleach runs down the length of the hose and then I simply screw the hose end onto city water fill and fill fresh water tank about 1/3 full

Then I run the pump and let water out all of the faucets, shower and toilet .. they “Key” is once you’ve done that let the bleach /water mix sit in the RV water lines for 12 to 24 hours..

Doing so give the “Free chlorine” time to do its job disinfecting … then simply drain fresh water tank and refill and run fresh water though ..

Wow, I never thought of that. Genius way to get around the problem!

Can you fill a bucket with the solution and suck it into the tank?
Looks like that's what will need to happen. Have a cheap(free) water siphon that runs on 2 D cells but just not enough pressure to get past the check valve. Going to get a 12V pump and rig it up.

You can try the type of pump that connects to a drill.

My brother popped off the vent cover on his and used that as an emergency fill.

Fortunately, my spring 2024 build still has a regular gravity fill at the rear behind a locking door, but on the next build cycle they used the power fill.

As we have learned, this is just crazy. I get Keystone catering to a certain segment but to create a stumbling block to water access? I'd fire whoever the genius was who thought that was a good idea.

Using the winterize mode and drawing water or bleach into the system does not put any water into fresh water tank...

We carry this 12 vdc transfer pump when we boondock if we need to put more water into the RV when there is no city water connections

Yep, that's where I've landed. Going to get a pump that matches the on-board and make a siphon rig. Thanks everyone for your feedback!
