Fuel station switch

Does anyone know if I can wire and simple toggle switch to my fuel pump to turn it on and off. I have a 2021 raptor and I have had 3 fuel pump switches replaced and they keep failing. Seems to me a simple on/off toggle switch would be much less hassle!

Seems if your having to replace the OEM switch that many times in a short period that there is definitely something not going on that is correct.
Short in the wiring/connections somewhere?
When you say they "keep failing", do they just quit working? burn out?
Are the switches being tested outside of your rig after this happens?

The way mine works is when you turn it on it activates the pump to drain the hose and pull any fuel in the hose back into the tank first. Then it allows you to pump.
Not sure a simple toggle would allow this to work that way?
It may, it may not. Would just need to be tested.

I think I would go back to WHY do this switches keep quitting instead of attempting to make a different style connection.

The short answer is Yes, you can add a switch to make it work. You should use an intrinsically safe switch or remote it far away from the filling station to avoid ignition of the fumes. Make sure you remove power from the circuit before working on it. Working on any electrical circuit in proximity of gas fumes is an explosion hazard with high risk. I am not endorsing this modification….

I went through two of the OEM panels on my 2021 Fuzion before I gave up. At $150 ea, it just wasn’t worth it to me. My remote fuel level gauge never worked since new (even after the dealer “fixed it”) so I don't miss that function. When it was new it always read empty. After it was “fixed” it always reads 100%.

As mentioned above, you will lose the reversing function. Mine reversed the pump to clear the lines AFTER I finished pumping, not before. However, you could use a DPDT switch and wire it so that you could manually run the pump either way. Without the reversing function, you are likely to spill gas that is left in the fill hose while stowing it.

I have the wiring diagram for the unit and will attempt to attach it here. Please note that the two wires IN use red for positive and black for negative. The two wires OUT use black for positive and white for negative.

My entire fuel system has been a hassle since new. This is the 3rd switch replaced under warranty, and I’m tired of leaving the camper at the dealer at the end of the summer only to pick it up months later and it still only works for a hot minute. My fuel tank for the generator won’t take fuel, and they “fixed” that and after 1.5 gallons it just runs back out of the fill port. So I’m probably going to see if I can possibly lower the tank a few inches to see if that helps. Thanks for the wiring diagram. Hopefully I can make that work.

I have to fill mine slow or it'll burb up on me.
My only complaint so far is on the in-command panel inside and on my phone app, the generator and the fuel tank read backwards. We can run the gen for hours and it will still say full. The fuel side is the one going down.
I've called ASA and they don't have clue. Wanted me to do updates(which were already done) suggested it was my phone and not the app or the trailer!!! I believe it just has to be a wire crossed over in the connections on the switch but haven't jumped in on that one yet.
I finally give up and just deal with it.

My fu,ion 428 had the same issue which was due to wires swapped in the fuel station control panel. Easy fix but dealer couldn't find it then after replacing it solder joints were broken in the replacement process. Don't understand how because it was all plug and play!

I had fuel station issues and ordered a replacement circuit board, plug and play, 2 plugs, no issues since. Dealer replaced it one time and tech broke solder connection when tried to put the wrong plug in the place so it didn't get fixed until I fixed it!
