Fuel Station Pump question

Is it normal for the fuel station pump to "run" the whole time it is turned on, (ie. even when not pumping gas), or should it shut off like a water pump?

Yes it is normal. It will not shut off until you shut the switch off.

I remember when they put a 15 minute timer on the pump circuit.
