What's the best way to clean the fresh water vent on a 2024 23MLE? I'm only able to fill the tank about 1/4 of the way then it starts coming out the inlet pipe

Good afternoon. For clarification purposes, you are referring to the vent on the side of the RV, correct? I have never had a situation where I needed to clean this vent. Is your RV sitting level when you are attempting to fill the fresh water tank? If you have water coming out the vent, it is working properly and is not blocked. If the tank is not full, in my experience it would be because you are not level. Are you sure that it isn’t full? Sometimes the gauges do not read accurately.

Is this a gravity fill or pressure fill fresh water tank? On my model they switched in the middle of the model year, from gravity to pressure.

Has it ever filled properly? It is not unheard of for a gravity fill inlet pipe to be kinked and it is fairly simple to access the back side of the fill tube and straighten it out.

I had the same problem on my 2018 Springdale 202QB and found that the vent line droped below the top of the tank and was kinked then went back up to the fill port.
I cut the vent hose and add enough hose to eliminate the kink. that seemed to help a lot with the water burping out of the fill.

I’m having the same problem. My tank is 55 gal, but after about 25 gal, the water comes out of the gravity feed inlet ( not the vent). I am level. I’m thinking that the vent has a blockage and won’t vent causing pressure in the tank to expel water out of the inlet?

Problem Solved - Whooo Hooo.

So, I wanted to see if the vent was the issue ( It was). I removed the small rubber screen, seated a 1/2-in tube on the opening (so air wouldn't escape the side), blew into the tube. Air started gushing out of the vent tube, and I heard a gurgling sound from the tank. After about a minute, the air stopped.

I am now able to fill my freshwater tank. That tube is now part of my freshwater gear.

Hope this helps
