I have a 2019 passport. I bought it used. The first time I put water in the fresh water tank afterward we stopped for fuel. I noticed water dripping under the fresh water tank. When I looked at it close the previous owner had put a sealer patch on it. After I remove it i see a factory hole. This is at the low point of the tank. Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a drain there? I see no threads. In the hole. Wierd. Maybe a plug goes there? They possibly pulled it to drain for storage and lost it?
Thank you.

My 2019 Passport 240BH had a PEX pipe and 1/4-turn valve hanging down about 6” out of the belly. My current Cougar is exactly the same. Here is a pic from my Passport (excuse the spray foam, but I never once had a mouse inside).

The fittings are spun-welded into the tank. Basically they press the fitting against the bottom of the tank and then spin the fitting at high speed until it generates enough friction to melt the fitting to the tank for a permanent seal.

Yours might have broken off for whatever ever reason and the prior owner probably didn't use the tank enough to warrant fixing it the right way.

I am unsure if there is a different type of fitting that can be installed that will hold the weight of the water and handle the flexing of the tank as it bounces while going down the road. However, the spin weld fittings cost about $1 and can be a DIY install using a 1 HP router to spin the fitting at the appropriate speed to weld it to the tank.

Things might have changed from 2014 to 2019 in how the fresh water tank is configured, but my fresh water tank is opaque "rotocast" plastic, the drain fitting is molded into the low point reservoir in the bottom of the tank. It accepts a 1/2" threaded standard plumbing fitting. I simply unscrewed the old drain and screwed a 1/2 plastic (nylon) fitting configured with the new drain line and valve into the threads in the drain hole.
