Found the stench

The last trip out for the season we use Chuck's method. During the active camping season, we will drop one of those dissolvable holding tank treatment pods down the bathroom sink drain and kitchen sink drain (we have two grey tanks) and of course the black tank too.

Bleach will kill germs, but the issue is soap/grease build-up in the tank and that needs to be digested/removed and bleach will not do that, and in fact could harm the valve seals.

Watch this video. It's 57 minutes long, but it's the best 57 minutes spent if you REALLY want help with your holding tanks. You do not have to pay someone to do this, and you may not have the power machine to do this job either, but there are some very important principles this video covers that will help you tremendously. Watch and enjoy!

I've used some camco stuff before. In fact I put some in every year at the beginning of the season. Grey tank odor is almost worst than black tank!
