Late night and bad weather caused me to hit a pole in the middle of a parking lot. According to the repair shop the total damage cost around 14k.

I feel so STUPID that I did this, it feels like we can't catch a break since we started being full-time. Since we are thousand trial members we thankfully get an extension in case we need it. I mean I can't pull my RV and leave with this minivan from Enterprise.

So sorry to hear about your bad misfortune. Big or little, when our RV's get damaged it's heartbreaking through and through. You will get through this and someday look back and realize the experience made you stronger, better, and a little wiser. But, it's not easy going through it when you actually go through it. But, we all survive and move on. You will too. Good luck!

Oh sorry I should have specified that I wrecked my truck that is why I didn't place it in the travel trailer section lol. But thank you, we should be getting it back in a week or so

I figured that out from your last paragraph about the rental van and it not pulling the camper. Sounds like you guys may be under a lot of stress and this just piled on to it. Things like this used to frustrate me and have me asking why. Many years ago I experienced an event that changed my outlook.

Long story but when I was 22 yes old I was in WV deer hunting with a cousin. Coming off the mountain a truck hit the passenger door of my cousins car. I took the brunt of the impact. The accident fractured 3 vertebrae (L1 to L3), broke my pelvis into 3 pieces, and bruised my kidneys causing them to bleed. During the long recovery (over a year including walking again) I asked "why me" many times. The fact was, if we were seconds earlier or seconds later it never would have happened.

A very wise man told me it was "meant to be" and who knows, maybe those seconds either way saved my life. During my recovery I meet the girl I would marry and I think that was the Devine plan. So every since I no longer question why. I also no longer drove recklessly, or become upset if I'm delayed in traffic, or am stuck in an airport with flight delays. Life is too short and fragile to sweat the small stuff. What seems like insurmountable issues today will become just another moment in time during our lifetime on earth. As it is said , "this to shall pass". Hang in and trust that things could be worse.

Glad you are okay

Ouch! Glad you are OK, but your insurance rate is likely going up.

At 14K sounds like an entire front clip.
Get it fixed.
Get it back.
Trade it in.
Glad it's only metal, rubber and plastic.
Your guardian angel was probably reading the tea leaves telling you to get a new one anyway.
:whistling:

My bad ... confusing which vehicle was damaged. Actually, the truck is probably an easier and less time consuming endeavor than getting a trailer repaired after an accident. So, glad to hear you'll be "back on your (wheels)" soon. A ray of sunlight is on it's way! Thanks for clarifying.

So just a quick question, how many if any of your air bags deployed? Those will inflate a repair estimate very quickly!

No air bags wasn’t headed fast enough or impacted hard enough but since its a newer truck parts are just realllllly expensive

Not a problem thanks for checking in, this community is amazing

Glad you're OK. Hopefully you are insured and you can get it repaired quickly.

Thanks and thankfully only have to pay $500 out of pocket. Should be done in a week they told us

Sounds like the damage to the body wasn’t that bad, just likely took out trans cooler, AC condenser, PS cooler, and radiator, ouch!
Do you ave pictures?

No pictures I didn’t think about. It was night and cold and sleeting. I am sure insurance has pictures

Glad you are okay! Be thankful you have a Ram and not a Rivian. Some owners faced repair bills exceeding $40,000 even for seemingly minor fender benders. The good old days of strong vehicles are gone!

Growing up we had a 1976 GMC Rally STX Passenger van and I loved driving it as a teen (until I T-boned a Mercury Bobcat backing out of a driveway). Fortunately it didn't even scratch the chrome bumper of the van despite totaling the Bobcat, but my Dad still said I couldn't drive it after that.
