So I'm looking for feed back is anyone running the equil-i-zer
weight distribution set up on their tongue pull toy haulers?
can I get some feedback on pros and cons if any.. Thanks

Pulling a 5er now but pulled TTs for years with the Equalizer 4 point hitch. Best one for the money. Easy to set up. Notice, I said the 4 Point system. The 2 point is not that great ~~ just cheap.

:iagree:

My old toy hauler came with a regular weight distribution hitch. I switched it up for the Equalizer 4 Point Sway Control hitch and it was a night and day difference. If I even went back to a bumper pull it would have one again.

If my hitch budget was only $500-600, I would gravitate towards the 4pt Equil-i-zer. Good reputation; many in use today. My pockets were deeper when I switched out my Blue Ox Sway Pro last year so I went with a Hensley to completely eliminate sway. If my budget was significantly less than $500, I would wait until I saved enough for an Equil-i-zer.

I use the equal-i-zer 4 point hitch and have been very happy with it. It performs excellent reducing sway and distributing weight when setup properly. I purchased the hitch when I bought my RV from the dealer. I had done my research and requested this hitch. I trusted the dealer to set it up properly, which they did not, so I was not happy initially. The rear of the truck sagged too much and the truck and trailer were not close to being level. No problem. I took the truck and trailer to a level parking lot and followed the setup instructions included with the hitch. I was able to get it setup correctly with a tape measure and about an hours effort.

The installation and removal of the steal bars for sway control/weight distribution do put stress on your electric tongue jack. This is because you use the tongue jack to lift the tongue of the trailer and rear of the truck to remove and install the bars. My first and original jack that came with the trailer failed/locked up. It was not a great jack and was already having some intermittent start/stop issues. I replaced it with a Husky Brute 4500 lb electric jack and have not had any trouble since.

The only negative regarding this setup is the loud squealing sound when turning. This is because the steal bars prevent sway by friction between them and the brackets mounted on the trailer. I have not noticed any wear on the bars or the brackets. I also am not going to grease the location where the bars come in contact with the brackets because it is this friction that prevents sway and it does a very good job. My trailer tracks behind my truck with little to no sway at all.

Hope this helps,

Curtis

Edit: As others have mentioned you can purchase pads for the brackets to reduce/eliminate the squealing. I would also like to mention that the noise is typically limited to low speed maneuvers.

Another 4 point believer here. They worm great and are fairly easy to adjust as mentioned above. An electric impact wrench makes that a snap.

I used an equalizer 4 pt system for 3 years with my old Passport and loved it. Very easy to hook up and gave me no problems. Good hitch system.

Guess I'll have to chime in and give another thumbs up on the Equalizer 4 point. Noise can be an issue but if you grease the ball and put Dawn on the L brackets you can quiet it down a lot. I just bought the L bracket covers from Equalizer that I will use for the next trip.

I use the 4 point Equalizer too and have no issues. I use dawn to help with noise on the L bracket.

I've got one and really like it. My brother bought a Reese. He had it for a month. Gave it away and bought the Equalizer. Not sure if you can get better reviews than what your reading here...

Towing a 3220 Bh, wouldn't have any other hitch. The noise tells me it's working. At least that's what I tell the DW
