I found that the corrosion of the couplings in the unit that connect those data cables to the thermostat were so bad that I had to replace the end plugs and the couplings. They are regular old phone jacks, pay attention to the color code since a regular phone line is not the same as far at each end. The jack plugs are hard to find, and you will need the tool to crimp them to the cable as well. You might find ones that seem perfect, only to find they are too fat to fit into the CCC2 thermostat, but the couplings are not so fussy. Remember to match the existing ends color code, not swapped like a phone cable! You can also troubleshoot by making up a cord with the thermostat and taking it onto the roof and plugging it into the board that the thermostat plugs into. If it works up there, it's probably the wiring, and mine was those corroded couplings.
