I found my rear darkening shade completely unrolled. It will not go up. I took it down but can't determine what s wrong. I can't even find a name on it to determine the brand. I have looked at videos that show how to adjust speed and stopping point.
I am looking to repair if possible and could use any advice! If it's unrepairable any recommendations on a replacement?

Is it a roller shade, a pleated "pull down" shade or another type ???

What is the year and model of your RV?
This info would help identify your blind manf. For example - the roller day & night shades in my Montana are by Irvine Shade.

Black out shade
THANK YOU

It may be a Value Line roller shade. They are listed on the Trekwood.com website as OEM for some Cougar models. There's a you-tube video on how to repair some of the issues with them. You can watch the video here:
and you can check out the 2023 Cougar window shades here: Trekwood RV Parts - Search Results

My first guess is Irvine Shade (same as they use in Montana fifth wheels). Irvine Shade is in Elkhart IN. Not sure what the difference will be between Value Line and Irvine Shade...It may be the same blind with a name change - I don't know.
The video above is by Jacque (pronounced Jackie) at RV Blind Company in Mesa Az. Regardless of the brand, email her with your contact info, address, rig year and model + length of dark out blind and she will send you the inner parts/springs you need, or call and leave a message 602-321-9986. Her website is rvblindco.com. I ordered springs for a set of day/night shades Sept. 2024 and it was $78 including tax and shipping.

Edit: Based on info from many of the forums - the Cadillac of RV roller blinds is MCD Innovations in McKinney TX. They are now owned by Airxcel. Their pricing reflects "Cadillac."

Thank you for all your time and assistance. You have provided me some very valuable information

Yes, call Jacque. I have two new day / night shades from them delivering by FedEx today. You can also buy just the replacement springs and auto stops from them. She can tell you how to measure for the proper parts or shades.

I had similar issue with my cougar shades. one roller stuck down but got it replaced by keystone under warranty. On another It will not stay down and now beyond 1 year warranty. I talked with Jacque from rv blinds. When you take shade out there should be a sticker on top. If it has a PO number they are not fixable. The sticker should also show size and color. I ended up buying a replacement from RV blinds. If it has a model number rather than PO then they should be repairable and Jacque can help with parts.
