I have a 2014 Cougar 277RLSWE. The remote control I have does not work both slides (bedroom slide does not work) and the outdoor spotlight and landing gear.
I tried re-programming it with the computer board to no avail.

Anyone run into this problem?

Thanks
Ed

Quite honestly, that is a new one to me, this is the first I heard of this. Did you try resetting the unit?

How did you hook up a computer to it for re-programming?

Does the remote light up when you turn it on? Not sure about your re-programming it with the computer board, that doesn't compute!

Same on 318 SAB 2013

Have the same problem. Bedroom slide not in remote program. Brow lights, galley slide and main slide on remote, landing gear on the remote. Would gladly sacrifice landing gear for bedroom on the remote as I always use the outside switch on landing gear. No joy in reprogramming the remote though.

Here's how you re-program and sync your remote to the main computer board.

The service tech at the dealer says it may be the computer board itself.

Well ok that is the remote, and that will only operate what is wired into the control. If you want to operate something different you will need to rewire the control board with the item you want to control. How many items will the board operate?

Is your bedroom hydraulic or cable. Our Alpine is cable. No remotes for us thanks, but no thanks. Too complicated for an old man LOL

Our remote controls all 4, but they're all hydraulic off the same pump motor. Do you have two different types (hydraulic & cable)? If they've different motors, I'd bet one wasn't connected to the control board.

Programming the Remote and devices it controls

The remote isn't really that difficult to program. I stupidly left mine on the back bumper of the truck, and when it fell off, the RV wheels ran over it. I ordered one off of eBay for $30, and got the instructions and walked through the directions in about 15 minutes. (no computer is used or required).
I know the model of remote control I have is capable of controlling 8 devices, with one reserved for the light. So, you should technically be able to control 7 different devices, but I can't say for sure which ones your have - as you can see by my signature, we have a 291RLS, and it controls the 2 slides, the landing gear, rear stabilizers, and awning, and then the reserved one for the front light.

I believe both slides are cable driven. According to Keystone Tech support, both slides should work with the remote control.

It's at the dealer now for a fix. We shall see what they come up with.

Cougar remote control

Would have to believe that the remote controlled both slides, like ours.
If you could take it back to the dealer, that is the best choice -and of course if it's under warranty:eek:.

From personal experience with our RV, between some leaking plumbing and stuck rocker switch, I've learned the dealer is a good place to start!

Now that our is out of warranty, I've learned a lot about remotes and electrical.

Update- took unit in and evidently Keystone neglected to wire the closet awning to the remote control board.

I elected to not have them wire it up.
