Changing trucks

Diesel in my area has gone up to 4.50 a gallon as of this morning. Price of diesel is one reason I went away from them.

I'm about 30 min west of Charlotte. $4.60 - 4.70 here this evening. Gas is also increasing. Maybe not as quickly but nonetheless it is increasing.

I was proud to find diesel at $3.69 today at a Chevron. All other stations in town $4.09+.

My Ford dealer could not give me a build date so I passed on a new dually. He said he would give more than I paid for the 2019 and honor X plan and all or any rebates.

Randy Marion Ford just north of Charlotte delivered two in about 4 months- give or take. If that helps. Not too far from OIB.

Go easy now,, we're at $1.85 / litre up here in Ont, it's supposed to be at $2 in a couple of weeks. It's at $2 in BC.

Truck was ordered in sept. Just received it march 1. Paid Msrp. Local dealer said he’d give me 5k off but they had no allocation and his guess was it would be nine months. Couldn’t wait that long. Sold my previous truck for 9k over what I paid for it 3yrs ago with 40k extra miles. Strange times we are in that’s for sure.

We bought a new Kia Sorento 1 year ago this month & that dealer has contacted 3 times wanting to buy it back for what I gave for it, but like about every other dealer they have no new cars on their lot so not sure what the plan for a replacement would be.
Funny thing is they have about a dozen or more used Teslas, so I'm guessing the novelty wore off pretty quickly for about a dozen EV owners.

Would love to see pics of your new truck.

Ordered mine in November. For three weeks dealer said VinView showed ETA of today, 3/12/22. Then on Tuesday and yesterday VinView states "Pending Dispatch". :banghead:

So I am still waiting.

Only have one at the moment. It was worth the wait. Only thing it’s missing is rear heated seats.

While another update on new truck. Received new production date again. Now it is April 1 will see might just be a April fools joke.

Noticed a lot of people comparing diesel to gas prices and using the cost difference as justification for buying a gas truck. Think about it this way. If you tow 500 miles at 8 mpg that’s 62.5 gallons times $4/gal is $250 for a gas truck. Make that same trip with diesel 500 miles at 11 mpg is 45.5 gallons at $5 per gallon is $227.50. Diesel is cheaper for towing. Last week I towed a small bullet premier travel trailer, 4800 lbs, averaged 16 mpg, that would never happen with a gas truck.
