Changing out jackknife sofa for dual recliner loveseat in Springdale 1860ss

We removed the pull out sofa from our Cougar slideout and replaced it with a Lazyboy dual reclining loveseat. Backs come out and the sections fit easily through the door. Have since replaced the loveseat with two recliners. Don't know about the shelves, sorry. PS: most any recliner or loveseat you buy through the internet and is shipped will have the backs slide out of tracks to make the furniture profile smaller for shipment.

This is what the shelving is.

You should have no problems removing that shelving, just do it carefully so you don't scar up the wall behind it.

Many folks customize their slides. As long as there are no wires under the couch, you can do pretty much anything with them.

I had a larger sofa in my cougar, and I removed it. I had room to put in two lazy boy recliners. Best thing we ever did to this trailer.

We had a jackknife sofa in our old Forest River travel trailer. We hated it. Uncomfortable to sit on and even worse when folded out to sleep on. Pulled it out and sold in on Marketplace. It sold very quickly. Bought two recliners on Amazon. Assembled them in the camper. Loved them! We did lose the sleeping element but 90% of the time it was just me and my wife anyway. The recliners had heat and massage and were very comfortable. Highly recommended!
We have now purchased a Cougar that has two recliners theater seats with heat and massage. GREAT!

Question for those replacing their sofa sleepers, are there specific recliners that we should look at and price for a travel trailer? Do you have to bolt down the theater chairs? We are thinking about replacing our couch with theater seating chairs, since it's mostly my husband and I that camp now days and if the kids do come along they watch TV from their bunks. Any brand suggestions or any advice would be great, thank you!!

I have used both a reclining Lazyboy love seat. It was replaced by two recliners. I bought the Lazyboy on Craigslist and the recliners from either eBay or Amazon. The recliners are micro-fiber and supposed to recline while the back is directly against the wall. This isn't exactly how they work but close. The main thing is that if you get them mail-order the backs will slip out of tracks on the seat part so the halves fit easily through the door of a camper. I bought the recliners for our house livingroom but my wife sat in hers with 5 dogs on top of her so we went to a full out for the living room and I then put the recliners in the camper and sold the Lazyboy love seat as I liked the recliners better (more comfortable). Some folks buy RV specific furniture from places like Recpro but there really isn't any reason to do that if the backs come off (like a Lazyboy or the recliners we have).

We did this last year, and then ended up with buying a new trailer this year. So I have a loveseat/recliner that I will give you if you want to come to montana and pick it up! Where are you?
I live in Maine. We have picked out a reclining loveseat and will install it soon. We are quite sure we can keep the shelf.
The problem may be getting rid of the jackknife sofa as it has no legs because it sits on a 12 inch high slide out. Some will need to purchase legs.
