We had a Jayco with one of the "dump" type AC units in Colorado for 2 years and didn't have any issues with cooling down the unit even on days they call hot there, it was just noisy. Our 25MLE Cougar has two ACs instead of the one and both of them are Mach Q units which I simply love because they are so quiet. We took it to Colorado last year and had some issues on one of their "hot" days. It just felt like there wasn't enough cold air coming out of the vents. We are from Kansas which is way hotter than Colorado but we didn't get to take our unit out during the hot months last year locally.

Long story short, I just placed an order for the KoolRV upgrade that is supposed to improve the output airflow. I've read mixed reviews but thought for $85 I'd give it a try with one of them and then the other if it seems to work.

Cool Down Your RV with A/C Connect for Coleman Mach Series - KoolRV®

I'll post again when I get it in with some unit specific installations pictures and results.

I don't think you will find ANY improvement with the KoolRV add-on since the Mach-Q units already have directed output to the ducts. The standard units with the Quick-Cool air dump feature can see a substantial improvement with the KoolRV unit, but since the Mach-Q already has it's own system to push the air into the ducts, the add-on is really just snake oil.

The issue you have is the Blade ceiling vents, not the AC unit. I removed all of the Blade vent inserts and replaced them with Thetford vent covers that rotate and have closable louvers. It was an amazing difference and the cost of all 9 of those vent louvers was less than one add-on device (that doesn't work). The Blade vents have long been a point of contention for many, and I have seen quite a few new Keystone units this year that don't have those type of vents any longer

Thanks for the reply and I saw your input on another thread saying almost this. My only question here is, the air coming from the squirrel cage, at least in my unit, does not go directly to the ducts. It dumps straight down into a large, enclosed opening and then has to find its way to the ducts. This would cause a lot of turbulence in air-flow cutting down on the velocity I would think. This add-on should instead take the air and channel it directly to the ducts. I'm not saying it WILL make an improvement but it makes logical sense to me that it COULD. I've got one unit ordered that I'm going to try first to see. Then I'll make a decision on whether to order the second one.

BTW, I'm also going to either do the vent covers you recommended or take the blade ones out and grind down the upright like was suggested by another forum member. I haven't decided which one yet.

As always, thank you for your time in replying!

I did try the KoolRV product, but I just didn't like look and feel of the unit. The plastic parts were poor quality 3D printed and the rest was black coated mylar dryer vent hose. The whole thing was almost as if some teenager was cranking these things out from their mother's basement. It might have been different if it had worked as well as advertised. I ended up sending mine back for a refund (which they didn't fuss about).
