Puchased a leftover 2022 in May 2023. Took it in for warranty work April 2024, 9 items. I subsequently received confirmation from CW that Keystone approved all the repairs including the peeling cabinets in the kitchen, living area, bathroom and bedroom. All Cabinet doors are fine, just the faces are bubbling up in the middle and peeling top, bottom, left and right edges on EVERY Cabinet face.

Fast forward 45 days, 7 of the 9 items completed, excellent!! But then, got a weird call from CW today. The story goes something like this: the tech that originally said the cabinets peeling was not water damage but bad glue no longer works there. The new Technician who started on that job claims there must have been water damage (on every cabinet face, floor to ceiling, tip to tail) and now they need to resubmit the Peeling Cabinet claim back to Keystone for parts and approval. AND... sorry, but they already started ripping off all the peeling paper so the trailer looks like a mess. All other work completed. Not sure where this will go, but this is not looking good for CW or Keystone at the moment. But who knows, maybe I am worried over nothing and Keystone does the right thing.

My question, has anyone been through this (within the warranty period, as I am) with Keystone and had a successful outcome?

Your beef is with the dealer. Try the service manager first although he was probably involved in the communication you received - but give him a shot. If that fails go straight to the GM.

Keystone does the approvals in the dark depending on what they are told, and shown, by the dealer. That original approval came from the conversations that Keystone had with the tech assessing your damage and it was approved. The "new" tech is out of line. They should have completed the approved repairs and returned the trailer. If the new tech has come up with his "new assessment" based on ? he needs to can it.

As you pointed out, every cabinet door did not receive the same water damage top to bottom. This is a known, recurring issue in some of the trailers and I'm sure why Keystone approved the repairs. I believe I recall they have done the same for other members.

If it were mine I would be at the dealership; tech, service manager in hand as we visited with the GM and they laid out their plan to undo whatever the "new" tech has fouled up.

Thanks the whole situation is just odd. I'll wait to hear what CW proposes as next steps. Knowing that this is a bad glue problem and fairly well known/experienced by others type of problem, just wondering if others have already addressed and had it repaired under warranty. I absolutely love the trailer and take meticulous care of it.

Just a brief positive update: Keystone and CW worked out the approval. Turns out due to the original misdiagnosis, more cabinet parts were needed to make the repair. The parts are on order and work will begin in late August when I return the trailer to CW. In the meantime we have a brief summer vacation planned with the trailer.

Great! Those peeling cabinets won't keep you from having fun....especially if you know they are going to be replaced when you return!!

Adam, Post a pic of a peeling cabinet. Just curious. My cabinets are solid wood in my old 2002 Cougar and the finish is stained, I think.
