Hey yall im fairly new to owning a travel trailer, I bought a 2008 vr1 299rls used through a private party i brought it home opened the slide out and now that I want to bring it in I cant get the motor to bring the slide in. It doesn't do anything and I do have shore power as well, 30a drop cord ran to the 110 outlet in my home. Curious if anyone could tell me how I can manually retract the slide and where the access to do it is located at? I need to get it moved asap to avoid a fine from the county. Any help at all is greatly appreciated!! Maybe im just over looking it but it feels like I have looked EVERYWHERE with no luck.

Do you know how old the battery in the trailer is? The battery powers the 12vdc system. The converter charges the battery. If the battery is weak then the converter may not have sufficient power operate the slides. As the voltage drops the amperage increases which can trip the self resetting breakers. These breakers are typically found on the frame rails near the battery. They look like a Lego Block with 2 wires attached. They are available at most any autoparts store or on-line.

At the age of the trailer I'd guess they are corroded both outside at the wire studs and inside the breaker. They are not repairable so they are a consumable, ie replacement is necessary. These breakers are >$10 and staped with the amperage rating on the case. Typically for electric slides (non hydraulic) the breaker will be a 30 Amp rating.

What type of slide is this? Hydraulic,

The battery is less then a month old, i bought a brand new marine deep cycle battery. If I have lights on while trying to bring the slide in will that effect it at all? I want to say I read somewhere you have to have everything off while moving the slide because it takes so much power.
