Exactly my thoughts!
A 30' 10k lb 5er with a 12' 3k+ lb trailer behind all connected to a 1/2 ton truck??
I'd have to pass on this set up & hope I don't have to pass it on the highway!

I know...tough room. Basically the folks on this site want you to be safe. They also don't want to encourage unsafe situations so rookies don't get the idea that it's OK.
Just some quick numbers would indicate that with just the 5er loaded (using the trailer GVWR) you are 300-500 lbs over your truck's payload. Add passengers and other gear and you're way over. Then there's the potential tail wagging the dog scenario with high wind or semi passing turbulence with the light truck pulling a broad sided sail.
The notion of 1/2 ton towable 5th wheels is mostly marketing hype based on tow capacity and totally ignoring payload.
FWIW, it's a nice looking rig. But it's not within any legal or safety towing parameters. Any sales person that said "you're good to go" is lying to you. Best of luck to you and your family.

That is way too heavy for that Ram! Trouble down the road.
Only way that would work is to manually shift watching the Tach and keeping it above 2,500rpm and higher if in mountains.

The photo was taken as I came off the scales at the Gin. The trailer and quad are 1400# with a 200# tongue weight. Yes the half ton truck isloaded right to the limit. It's the Tradesman package with a 1820# load limit. I only tow like this going to the lake or the local dunes.
The truck and trailer have been to Alaska and back and performs well.

As a disclaimer for newbies this should be thought through carefully with serious number calculations before this should be done or considered so that safety for you & your family along with anyone/everyone on the highways with you being the biggest concern.

But it does make for an excellent example of why you should be VERY careful when buying a used truck. I can see the ad now... "Lightly used to occasionally tow a light trailer a short distance to the lake".
