I have compiled a detailed list of pros and cons for buying a new TV with DRW, and for one with SRW. Looking at the 2019 Silverado 3500HD models with 6.6L Duramax diesel, both are plenty capable of pulling my Keystone Avalanche A320RS. Prices are very similar so that's not a big factor. I could always flip a coin but that's not how I work. I will analyze this to death, read hundreds of blogs and posts, use lots of paper making computations and calculations, and run various algorithms, to come up with the best option (mostly said in jest). I appreciate and value the responses and advice from the members of this forum but would rather hear from those who have faced this dilemma. I want to know if there is any valid way to come to a conclusion, other than personal preference. Thanks, and happy camping!

Sorry I just don't understand this? You will analyze this to death, then chose a TV with not enough payload to carry your 5er.
I just hope you fat fingered the 2500 and it should be 3500.

Gas to diesel
I did not want to get rid of my F250 gasser but the insurance company totaled it after an engine fire. I have had the the GMC for almost 6 months and love the diesel, the fuel mileage, the lower RPM when pulling grades, the engine brake and the ride. Reading through all the gas vs. diesel posts, I chose diesel and glad I did.

I saw the posts where you were debating between 2500 and 3500. Having owned both, I can say you will be very happy with your new truck. It will tow your avalanche like a dream. Tons of power and the new L5P gets incredible fuel mileage both loaded and empty. Two big differences I noticed from my LML is the power when starting from a stop and the unloaded fuel mileage at highway speeds. The LML would get 18-20 at 65, but would drop to 15-16 at 75. The L5P is getting 22 at 75 and 24 at 65. Even got 29 at 55. Enjoy the new truck.

How does the ride compare to the dually? Is there any more sway?

Actually it’s very stable. I was a little concerned since I got rid of a 2011 2500 to get the dually because the 2500 didn’t feel stable. The 2011 had 16” wheels and the load carrying capacity of the tires were much less than today’s tires. I actually took off the 20” wheels on the 2019 and went to 18” with a slightly wider tire because it offered the most load carrying capacity. I’ve towed over 4,000 miles with the current setup with no regrets. I don’t get as much squat with the 2019 either. The weight of the RV actually levels the truck and the ride is very smooth. I know some will get on me saying I’m over payload for a 2500, but I also understand why the payload numbers are what they are.

Get a bigger truck to tow that, lol, you can never be overkill the way I look at it.

Here in the Northeast my TT is in storage but I did buy a new TV and it's very sweet. Can I show it without the TT?

Started with a little 1500 for our first trailer 18 footer. Upgraded to the 2500hd for current trailer. The Tahoe is our emergeny tv if needed.
