The thing I wish we would have done differently is find an Alpine with the full body paint.

The wheels and 4 link upgrade look good to me. Im just concerned {not judging}the 19.5 / wheel tire will end driving on the beach for me. How do you think your truck would do, its basically the same as mine . Thanks

We took it on the beach (truck only, no trailer) down in Port Aransas at Mustang Island State Park. We didn't air down at all (80PSI front, 100PSI rear) and didn't get stuck, but did have some wheel spin on the looser mounds of sand. We ran in 4HI and I didn't run into any situation where I was concerned about being stranded.

I think tread has a lot to do with it. We're running the Michelin XDS2 tires, which we picked due to being a good compromise between off road and road manners. My personal opinion is that airing down is unnecessary for most beach driving. If you get into the really deep stuff or go out to sand dunes a lot, maybe then you need a different tire. FWIW, I'd feel safe airing them down to around 70PSI for extended periods of time, though I don't know how much additional "ability" that would give you.

We have onboard air from the 4-Link system, by the way. We use it to check and top off air pressure on both the truck and RV. One of the many great things about it.

For sure... we can't wait to get it out. We purchased it and put it straight into storage. It is a little bigger than we had planned on going but we wanted the bigger garage to have space for future upgrades. As soon as we saw it we knew it was the trailer for us. Now if spring would just get here...

What's the sticker on the door jamb say for payload? There aren't any of these at dealers in my area for me to see. Sure looks nice.

4572 and the funny thing is, that back in dec, me and dealer tried to work a deal on this truck and couldn't come to terms, I saw the price drop on cars.com a few times and we were able to make a deal on it. On this deal I made out, I ended up paying less for it then what I was paying for my '16 2500

Great truck. Congratulations. It makes me miss our 2004.5 Siverado 3500HD Duramax/Allison. Unfortunately, its payload was only 3500 lbs and we had to upgrade.

Our Tow Vehicle

Originally leased our truck to make sure it would pull our 28RLS good, and ended up buying it this year. The ecoboost works great and tows really good. This picture was taken at Rose Valley, Ca. One of our favorite "dog stops" when were camping in the Ojai, Ca area.

Oh I checked out your blog. Good stuff. I really liked the write up on the 4link and trailer disc brake conversion. Safe travels to you.

So far so good, it drives better then I thought it would and so far I'm not running into any issues around town, though, it'll sit 4 days out of the week, I'll look forward to driving it over the weekends.

I'm ready to pull our TT with it, just to see the difference between the 1500, I had, the 2500 I just traded to now this.
