Gas
Not propane as far as I know. UPS has a fleet of CNG and electric trucks.

CNG is not propane which is LPG. Both are compressed gas, volital and explosive, that's my point. LPG has a higher caloric content and CNG is compressed to a higher bar than LPG as I understand it. After fracking became prevelant the country has an abundence of natural gas and from what I've read the oil companies would rather sell it than just burn it off as they typically do.

If I'm in the truck lanes, which if towing I will be, my fridge is about 20-25' behind on the opposite side I'm fueling & at least 20-25' from the truck beside me.
It's far more dangerous filling your plastic gas can sitting in your truck bed than fueling with the rv fridge on.

Found in Ford Super Duty order guide for reference:
CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package (avail. on F-250/F- 350 w/6.2L gas engine only)
Looks like it runs on both?

We don't have natural gas in our area so most all appliances run on propane.
The only thing I had to change to convert natural gas to propane were the orifices on the appliances.
Don't know if this is the same for CNG versus LPG.

Yes, orifices is all I had to change in stove top and fire place to go from propane to natural gas.

Not exactly. Yes the orifice has to be changed but CNG is COMPRESSED natural gas and the pressure if different than LPG. Your utility company delivers low pressure natural gas. So converting to CNG would require a properly configured gas regulator.

You beat me to it!
Several OTR trucks, mass transit buses, city owned vehicles are being converted or built to run on CNG & a lot of truck stops now have it available, usually away from the other pumps.
If you looked around you could probably find a kit to convert most any vehicle, gas or diesel, to CNG. It burns cleaner than gas or diesel & is cheaper.

One thing I have noticed, some truck stop fuel pumps will not take CC, only fleets cards (fuel man, etc).

Loves truck stops work like this. You go inside and authorize the amount you want to put in. Can also buy DEF there at pump as mentioned. Ita kinda funny as you tell them pump number and 30 gallons. They are used to 100s gallon fill ups.

I've encountered where you go in give them a pump number and a dollar amount. Not gallons. If i need def i tell them and they unlock it. All part of the same dollar amount. But they'll only bill you for what you actually use at the pump.

It's this easy, ten thousand miles this year and every stop was at the truck pumps. Have now problem with the handle when left on first latch. 20 minutes counting on and off the interstate with potty breaks with the wife.

One thing I have noticed about using the truck pumps, they usually have the 5 or 6 cents a gallon add on for using credit cards. The RV and normal island pumps for cars/trucks do not have the 5 or 6 cents a gallon add on for credit cards.
Since I put the 65 gallon tank on my 2015 Ford F350 CC LWB, the 5 or 6 cents saved can equal to the price of one gallon of fuel. Might not sound like much, but over time, it will add up.
Now days, most of the canopies are tall enough to accommodate most 5th wheel trailers as far as height goes. The problem with the car pumps is the amount of space to position the truck and trailer near the pump to fuel it. There an be a problem turning into the pump even when the diesel is on the outside face of the outside pump island.
