There are usually screws securing the stereo to the entertainment center. If you do not have an existing wiring diagram, I suggest you make one before you start disconnecting wires. Unless you plan on a one for one replacement, you will need to know the function of each wire in order to install another type stereo system

Assuming it's that crummy double DIN AWM968 - there are 4 screws in the front face. Remove them and it will pull right out. The wires in the back, at least on ours, have markers as to where they go and should be long enough to easily work on behind the stereo.
If indeed you do an upgrade, do a thread update as to what was done as ours is on its last legs with RV replacement components that I've found having even worse reviews then the Jensen.

We were looking on the faceplate and didn't see any screws to take the unit out. The stereo/DVD player won't play most of our movies or quits in the middle of the movie also trying to figure out what a good replacement would be. Thanks

Yep, if a Jensen AWM968, those screws are in the outer rim and virtually hidden by the black surround trim.
Ours usually works - and sometimes it even turned on all by itself though a 'master' power switch cured that. The sound, even to my hearind aid ears - is horrible

Thanks on where the screws are-can you see the screws or are they hidden behind something?

The screws are, at least on ours, in plain sight but they are black and recessed in a black bezel so are tough to see in mediocre light. Run your finger around the edge and you should feel the holes

That plate must be some sort of option as I just rechecked ours and nope, just the 4 recessed screws.
Glad you got it apart - now just want to hear what replaces the Jensen clunker

Thanks now that part will be harder to figure out. It would be nice to find something that fits in the same spot and actually works. Anyone have anything better than a Jensen?
