We received 2 sets of keys for the trailer, when we bought it.

1 set lives in the glove box of the truck and the other is in the key dish at the house, when we are home, my pocket or the key dish in the camper when we are camping.

I'd like to change out my locks all around... it's on my "maybe someday" to-do list.

We have 2 keys also, one is always with me and DW has the other one. I was 2.5 hrs away before i could get there to rescue her, she wont be leaving the TT ever again with having her key and cell phne with her..i still blame this on our keystone "spirits" that reside in the hideout, hum, never seem to see them though because they Hide out from us..

Having had a similar situation happen to us last fall I'm still wondering where I could put a magnetic key box that no one else will find. I figure if I think of it someone else will too.

I don't have any keys for my 2014 Cougar. I just finished selling my home of 20 years and moving. I am so exhausted that the keys could be anywhere. I am now 400 miles away and living in the Cougar. I can't lock it when I leave and I cannot unlock the fresh water cap. Can I get keys made with the VIN number or do I have to have a locksmith come out?

Your fresh water door is probably an infamous C751 key. You can order the door key online with the lock number on the tumbler.

CH751 most likely for the fresh water cap. Door key:
If you can remove the inside cover, there should be a label with the key number on it. Just take that number to a locksmith shop and they should be able to cut you a new key. Unlike vehicles, key codes for RV's are not VIN specific or assigned. The same key will do both the handle and deadbolt.

We have not owned a vehicle in 30 years that didn't have an ignition key hidden somewhere on the outside. Same for the RV's. Ours is in a black magnetic box high up in the propane tank cabinet. Hard to see, and relatively easy to get to. Generally a burglar won't look for a hidden key, they will use the infamous crowbar instead.

I put a extra key set into the bumper inside a magnetic key box. So, please do not come by to steal it..
