6V AGM and Converter Question

So through sheer laziness I didn't keep my batteries charged and they ultimately died. When I replaced them I decided to go with (2) 6v AGM batteries. Everything works great and everyone I talk to says I should have longer run time when boon docking. My question is regarding the converter/charger. When I would plug the trailer in with the battery switch in the ON position I don't remember hearing anything. Now I hear a sound coming from the converter/charger under the stove. Normally I only heard this when I turned on lights. Would the change in battery type/size cause this to work any differently?

Thanks

The sound you hear coming from the converter is probably its cooling fan. When operating under a load, the converter generates heat and needs to be "cooled down". Your new 6V's may not be fully charged yet and the converter is in the charging mode" and the fan is running.

Mine did the same thing when I added two 6v's. The initial charge was 3a with the blower, then slowed to an occasional 1a with no blower.

Great. I was hoping that's all it was.
Thank you.
