Suza, welcome, from another fellow(s) Oregonians!

We have camped the Oregon Coast off and on since the early 80's, we have been residents since 97 and still love the coast. Now it is just about 2 to 3 hours closer!!
Haven't ventured further south with the current rig than Beverly Beach, but that will change soon.

a little off topic, any one run a portable generator in the back of there trucks.....any problems?....any tips?

08ramguy We did run a small generator in the bed of one of our trucks when we had a TT ,The only problem we had was the generator walked in the bed and got close the the plastic bed liner and melted it

Depending on the type of generator you have, running it in the bed of a truck may cause some pretty upset neighbors. Truck beds are like a megaphone, a little noise echos around in the bed and when it finally leaves, it's amplified a bunch. The generator that runs at 58dB may well measure 68dB or even more if it's sitting in a "steel box" with the muffler's exhaust pointed at the bed (sort of like banging a drum).

Try your setup, see if it's noisier than when operating in the open. Mine is significantly quieter out of the truck bed.
